Coffee Table Round-Up
Since I’m working on two different coffee table projects right now, I thought it would be appropriate to do a coffee table round-up. I’ve been searching through different brands looking for inspiration and similar styles to what I’m working on to bring new life into these babies! I have one square, modern looking table with a dark walnut stain. There is veneer on the top, but I’m going to attempt to sand it and see if the wood color matches the wood on the legs/rest of the table.
The other is a more traditional style with chunky round legs and a long rectangle top with a pretty inlay. I’m soo tempted to fill the inlays with rub n buff! To this day I still haven’t done a project with rub n buff, I think it might be time! The real question is…should I paint it black or white? I’m telling you right now I don’t have it in me to sand anything round and awkward like those traditional legs. HA. Time will tell.
In the meantime, I have been on the hunt for some good inspiration to hopefully push me down a design path. One of my biggest flaws is looking at TOO much inspo, doing TOO much research, and never actually doing the thing until I have a solid plan. But, with this coffee table round-up, I can visualize, put it out in the world, and then put my energy into the making part. The fun part.
Truth is I have been straying away from coffee tables because I seriously have not ever used one in my adult life. When I was a broke girl in college (and out) I never looked for a coffee table because I didn’t feel like it was a necessity. But a coffee table grounds the room to a center point and creates balance in your floor plan. I try to stray away from having furniture line the walls of my rooms, and instead, using different pieces to break up the space and create moments within the room. Here are 6 different options that inspired me for these projects, broken up by price point.
