Another family favorite.  Actually, if you would ask Brandon, this BBQ chicken recipe made him fall in love with me. I believe the words were “wifey material,” but don’t quote me 😉  That being said, this meal is SPICY! Be warned.  You can always cut back on jalapeno or red pepper flakes if you want to tone it down a notch. 

I love a good one-pot recipe, and this one can be made in the crockpot OR on the stovetop. If you’re opting for the stovetop method, you will need to boil and shred the chicken separately from the BBQ sauce, and then add it in as the final ingredient to the dish. You can also substitute shredded chicken breast for shredded rotisserie chicken to add more flavor.

Equipment

  • 1 Crockpot

Ingredients

  • 3 Chicken Breasts
  • 2 Chopped Jalapeno
  • ½ Chopped Purple Onion
  • 1 bottle Stubbs Spicy BBQ Sauce
  • ½ bottle Sweet Baby Ray's Original BBQ Sauce
  • ¼ c Italian Dressing
  • 2 Splashes Worchester Sauce
  • ½ tbsp Salt
  • ½ tbsp Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Red Pepper Flakes

Instructions

  • Chop up the onion and jalapenos.
  • Add all ingredients to the crockpot.
  • Stir and cover the chicken with sauce.
  • Cook for 5 hrs on low, or 2.5 hrs on high.
  • Shred cooked chicken and stir.
  • Cook on low for another 20-30 minutes (optional).
  • Enjoy on a large bun with cole slaw and pickles.
